Are there any herbs known to help control the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?
There are two herbs that I usually use as a part of a natural approach to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: Panax ginseng and licorice root. Ginseng is known for its ability to improve mental performance and physical endurance. Licorice root has immune enhancing properties, anti-viral properties, and stimulates the adrenal gland function. All three of these mechanisms are relevant to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
I would not count on these two herbs alone for treatment. You should also consider CoQ10, L-carnitine, Vitamin C, Beta Carotene, B-vitamins, rest, stress management, a whole foods diet and acupuncture. See a naturopath in your area for a personalized treatment plan.
