I suffer from terrible heel pain caused by Plantar Fascia. My doctor just wants to inject the area with cortisone. Is there anything else I can try?
There are some heel stretches and herbal remedies that might help relieve your pain.
For the heel stretches, stand about 18 to 24 inches away from a wall and do wall push-ups — about 20 per day. These gentle stretches will keep your heels from stiffening up.
You can supplement these exercises with natural anti-inflammatories in the following dosages:
- Bromelain, 300-400 mg. three times a day
- Bioflavinoids, 1,000 mg. twice a day
- Pycnogenols, three caps a day
You can also apply a capsicum cream or homeopathic arnica ointment to the bottom of your foot twice a day. These topical anti-trauma remedies will help relieve minor discomfort.
Try this for 2-3 months. After this time, the condition should improve. I experienced the same problem and used this treatment regimen; now it’s completely better. You must also wear comfortable shoes that are supportive and sized properly.
